When you advertise with the Academy of American Poets, you help support our free publications and programs, including this website.
We offer five digital advertising options:
- Poets.org, one of the most visited poetry sites on the web
- Academy of American Poets Newsletter, which goes out to 100,000+ subscribers once a week
- Poem-a-Day, which goes out to 330,000+ subscribers every morning
- Educator Newsletter, which reaches 31,000+ teachers and educators once a month
- Teach This Poem, which reaches 39,000+ teachers and educators once a week
Additionally, print advertising is available in our twice yearly magazine, American Poets. If you're interested in both print and online advertising, we'll be happy to create a cross-platform strategy to meet your goals.
For new poetry titles, we offer four seasonal books round-ups: one in April for National Poetry Month and spring reading; one in August/September for Featured Fall Books; one in June/July for summer reading; and one after Thanksgiving—our Holiday Gift Guide. These lists includes coverage in print (in the corresponding issue of American Poets) and online (on Poets.org, in an Academy Newsletter, and on social media) for the first two, and online only for the latter two. This popular promotional opportunity is $400 per title (print and online) or $300 per title (online).
For new children's poetry titles and YA novels in verse, we offer similar seasonal books round-ups for young readers. This includes coverage on Poets.org, in an e-blast to our Educator Newsletter and Teach This Poem lists, and on social media. This promotional opportunity is $300 per title.
For poetry events, we offer the #PoetryNearYou Pick of the Week. This feature entails our posting the event in the Poets.org Poetry Near You calendar, sharing it in the Academy Newsletter during the week of the event, and pushing it on social media to our 700,000+ followers for $200 per event. There is limited availability as we only promote one event per week year-round, with the exception of National Poetry Month in April, when we also promote a weekly NPM Event Spotlight. To have an event featured during National Poetry Month, either as a Pick of the Week or as a Spotlight, is $400.
